Renovation construction on the “new” Applied Aquatic
Research Ltd buildings is nearly complete. This two year project
has increased available space for staff and equipment and has qualified
the build as a “LEED” compliant building. Some

- Applied
Aquatic Research Ltd has installed 22,000 ft2 of “Green
Roof”. This is the only roof comprised of native
short-grass prairie in North America.
- During the course of the Applied Aquatic construction we have
recycled 20% of the lumber and put it back into the “New” building.
- New office space has large windows and skylights to reduce
power. Also, low-flow toilets, on demand water, shut off
heat and also high effiency, full spectrum lights throughout
the office.
- RRR – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
- Worm farm has been set up in the office (composter)
- Installed “Low E” floor – ceiling windows
- “Smart” roof-top units that and cool without air
conditioning.
