Regulatory Specialist / Biologist
Sasha
has a diverse background spanning biological sciences, law, and
business. She gained invaluable field experience in her
early career participating in polar bear studies in the Canadian
High Arctic and seal surveys over Hudson Bay. While
at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Science, she worked
as a Teaching Assistant for an ecology program. Sasha earned
her law degree from the University of British Columbia during
which time she also worked in various research positions examining
issues related to international law and the Arctic environmental
legal regime, and as an Editorial Assistant for the Yearbook
of International Environmental Law. She has co-authored
publications in both the scientific and legal fields. Her
legal experience was gained at a leading national law firm where
she practiced as a corporate and tax lawyer for oil and gas,
and mining companies. Since joining AAR, Sasha has participated
in a range of projects, including conducting regulatory scoping
research, liaising with regulatory bodies and First Nations,
assisting the President with internal business matters, and leading
the incorporation and organization of The Boreal Group Inc. |
